Usk

Six miles up the road from Caerleon is a little bigger town called Usk.  Brian recommended us go there and walk around.  There had been a festival the weekend before and gardens were beautiful.  We parked at the car park and walked the five minutes to the center of town and  bought some fish and chips--two for ten pounds!  What a deal!  Freshly made, in cute boxes.

We walked up to the Usk castle remains and sat on a bench in the middle of the castle and opened up our dinner.

Way too much food for one person to eat.  So we ate as much as we could and enjoyed our dinner companions.

The castle was broken and covered in ivy, but was still cool to look at.  Here are a few pictures we took.

The view was amazing!  this is a view of the village near the castle.  The large building in the foreground was the tithing barn.

After the castle we walked back through town and found the river and walked along the banks for awhile.
The end to a perfect day;
